Mary Hawkins is a blues and jazz vocalist from the Philadelphia area. Her debut CD Black and Blue has been released on an independent label, and is aimed at three different radio markets---Blues, Contemporary Jazz and Traditional Jazz.

The CD was recorded and mixed by Glen Baratt, owner of Morning Star Studios and holder of multiple gold and platinum albums, and was produced by Philly jazz guitar veteran Mark Walsh. Black and Blue features several nationally known studio players from Philadelphia and New York.

An electrifying performer with a powerful soul and voice, Mary Hawkins is originally from Houston, Texas where she began her career as a fashion model. Hawkins moved to the Philadelphian area in the mid-eighties where she's been been featured at many major concert events, festivals and clubs. She's hosted the Women of Blues month at Philly's premier blues club Warm Daddy's; she has opened for major artists such as Jefferson Starship, as well as Blues legends such as Denise LaSalle, Debbie Davies, Junior Wells, and more.
